Hope you all have a happy and prosperous New Year. Good riddance to 2009. Its been a rough year for many of us.
Has anyone ever seen a saddle tree this pretty? We try to leave as much as possible exposed with this A-fork. It's too pretty to cover up.
Does anyone know how to properly measure for mature height? Is it fetlock to elbow, double it and divide by 4? or ground to elbow?
And of course you get the bare tree fit, just like they did in the old west, so you know it fits. It's a beauty!
Check out this saddle, a replica of an old west Wade saddle. Check out all the choices you have to customize it as with all our saddles.
@MustangBlueWy right at the farthest back rear tip of the fetlock to the tip of the elbow, double it and divide by 4.
@MustangBlueWy I'm pretty sure it's fetlock to elbow.....how bout it horse tweets, anyone out there know for sure?
@MustangBlueWy Mine when measured is right at 15 hands. The same mare had the paint, in pic, which is now 15.3, measurement was right on.
@MustangBlueWy to measure at the fetlock to the elbow and double it proves to be really accurate at the final height when mature.
@MustangBlueWy mine is 17 months and just about the same size. I think he is small but the one in my picture was big, he'll grow soon.
@cowman if there is no other way a quick death is better than slow starvation. I don't think people try hard enough to find another way.
@cowman They depend on us so. Too many people get animals and think of them as disposable. Animal ownership is for the animals life.
@cowman Thank goodness there are people that do this work, I don't think I could, I would be adopting them all. So Sad, poor animals.
@MustangBlueWy I wonder how that ever came to be. Kind of crazy if you ask me. And yes, I have one that will be 2, but how old really?
@Stephen_JanetBly Very well put! Thanks, I needed that. Hope your 2010 is great.
@MustangBlueWy How old is he? I have one about the same size.
@knotatail I liked this, thanks for sharing. Here is one I'm sure you will enjoy and I'd love to hear your comments on my site.
@knotatail Welcome to the tundra! You'll warm up about June, and then you'll start cooling down again in Sept. Some like it, not me!
